Susie Smartypants Explains the Evolution
Interesting:
In this German video, Susi Neunmalklug (Susie Smartypants) explains the evolution to Mr. Hempelmann (who apparently is her religion teacher).
It is a promotional video for a new German children’s book about the evolution.
(thanks for the link, Zach!)

No child should have that hair, even a German child.
Haha, I thought the same thing (what’s up with the hideous haircut?)
Awful haircut.
Anways:
One could argue, that her position isn’t that much better than the one of the creationists.
To make one thing clear: I’m an agnostic and consider religion as an codec to make living together much more easier 8not more not less) but the complete denial of the teachings of the bible is – at least in my oppinion – the same as the denial of evolutionary theory.
Let people believe in what they want to and as long as one doesn’t teach “Intelligent Design” or “Creationsim” in biology-classes, I’m totally fine “their” ideas.
As far as I’m concerned, noone i know of has been there when the big bang happend or took a look at the primordial soup, so it is just another theory which isn’t right per default (nor wrong for the matter of fact).
But I’ll stick with the big bang, the primordial soup and evolution of species as the evidence for those theories are much better
My comments mirror Tapi_oca and Kai’s. The hair on that lovely girl is interesting to say the least. I also find it easier to believe in the evolution of species, but I don’t have too much problem with people if they choose to believe that God created the primordial soup or directed the evolution of the species. My Mother’s belief in God is based on her observation that the complexity and expansiveness of the universe is too incredible to have occurred randomly. From that perspective, the lyrics of the song, “From a Distance” makes sense to me. http://music.yahoo.com/Bette-Midler/From-A-Distance/lyrics/702180#lyricstop
Thank you guys for your opinions. I certainly agree that it would be hypocritical to first criticize creationists’ dogmatism and then equally as dogmatically promote the correctness of the current state of evolutionary research.
Therefore please note that I did not post the video in order to claim I support every last claim it makes… sometimes I just want to spark discussion, and apparently that worked quite well (at the very least about the haircut
).
