Monumental Responsibilities
History has shown again and again that a vice president must be ready to assume command of the ship of state on a moment’s notice. But Ms. Palin has given no indication yet that she is capable of handling the monumental responsibilities of the presidency if she were called upon to do so.
From a New York Times opinion on the capability of Sarah Palin to become Vice President of the US.

For me as an international observer, this is all very scary: Does the international community want such a pilot, just one 72-year-old heartbeat away from flying the world’s biggest “jet”? I think politicians across the globe are praying these days for this not to happen.
“She is supposed to know a little bit of this!” A little bit?!?
I read an article about her interviews this morning on spiegel.de (link) with a 10 and half minute interview which almost creeps me out.
Considering the fact, that she is just one 72-year-old heartbeat away from the oval office, I’m forced to reconsider my point that it will get better in November anyways. But who am I to judge.
Still I hope that Obama will win

Yeah, how do you think we feel? I walk around with a giant lump in my throat, just praying that there is no way the American people will elect McCain. My blood pressure shoots through the roof every time Palin says anything. I’m terrified. I asked JP yesterday if he could finish law school via online classes from Canada. Tim wants us all to learn how to shoot guns and create a militia to “deal with things if McCain is elected”. I’m trying to figure out if we should scrap his job offer and just leave.
I’ll tell you this – we’re all taking off the day after election day in case we need to spend it drinking. Please keep sending us good karma. We need it.
@Kai Thanks for your comment! And thanks for pointing to the Spiegel article, I read it as well. Nice, the quote in it from this “National Review” article by Kathleen Parker:
It’s (almost) funny, ’cause it’s true!
@Freya Don’t forget to breathe! Looks like these elections are very bad for your blood pressure
