About Me
My name is Fred Wenzel and I am a software engineer at Mozilla Corporation. I am a development lead on several of our website projects (e.g., input.mozilla.com, download.mozilla.org), and have worked on numerous others (e.g., addons.mozilla.org, mozilla.com).
I hold a master’s degree in Information Engineering and Management from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. My master’s thesis was about “Transaction Management Challenges for Federated, Workflow-Based SOA Applications” and was written at Carnegie Mellon University‘s Software Engineering Institute in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Before working for Mozilla, I was a student Open Source Software Engineer at the OSU Open Source Lab while studying at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, USA.
When I am not at work, I play the trumpet or play with Linux systems and other Open Source Software in ordinary and not-so-ordinary environments.
If you want to know more, drop me a line: It’s fred at mozilla dot com.
