Purchased 2006 MacBook Pro for my Daughter for College. The school required that each student in Graphics Arts have one. So far we have had to replace the battery, hard drive and now it looks like the Logic Board is going out. With the money that I have spent on new parts and pieces, I probably could have bought a new one.
Mac needs to get on board with this model and offer an extended warranty or a trade in.

I have the new MBP, and yes the click is loud. I haven’t experienced the dead clicks problem. I have never had the screen close itself because of the weight (although, think how much less this bad boy would weigh if they didnt use glass!

Yes, the mouse click is VERY loud, and so is the keyboard.

What’s worse is that if one intends to do some browsing in bed with the sig other is asleep, the button click could easily awake her. That is if the new screen’s brightness isn’t keeping her up, or my cursing at the screen as it continuously closes upon its own weight.
