Ah, the German version is nice, too! I am also impressed that it rhymes. That's obviously not usually the case when something is dubbed...

Wow, nice one Fred. Usually I'm a grammar/spelling Nazi (too soon?), but I honestly thought that a Capitol referred to both the city and the building, but indeed Capitol only refers to the building and Capital is the correct word for the city in which the building is located. Sacramento is the Capital of California, Salem is the Capital of Oregon, etc. Indeed orthography for the win! ;)

I just noticed that the "50 states" episodes asks for the fifty states and their capitols... I take it they mean capitals instead? Orthography for the win ;)

Justin just sent me a link that explains it in more detail (thanks!): Capital is the main government city in a state or country, while Capitol is the building in which the main government business is performed. They are not interchangeable.

I only remembered the Animaniacs episode with the 50 U.S. states -- which is (of course) available at Youtube, too.

TV educates ;-)
